Meoshia Abrams

Meoshia Abrams brings a wealth of expertise in Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, and LGBTQIA+ issues! She believes in a personalized approach, tailoring her treatment to meet the unique needs of each client with an method. Her non-directive technique highlights the humanistic side of talk therapy, as she passionately states, “I believe everyone has a natural ability to perform at their optimal level using their experiences as strengths and motivation.”
Meoshia Abrams utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing, Interpersonal Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy, all within a warm and supportive environment that empowers LGBTQIA+ individuals to fully embrace their identity and personal journey!
Sarah "Ruth" Latham

Ruth Latham earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Mississippi State University in 2015 and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Alabama in 2018.
Ruth has a passion for working with children and young adults, helping them understand their emotions and navigate the world around them. She loves teaching her clients mindfulness techniques to help them become more aware of their thoughts and behaviors, in addition to utilizing other evidence-based techniques.
In her spare time, Ruth enjoys praying, practicing yoga, and meditating. in addition to her impressive background and passion for working with children and young adults, is also an author of a children's book. Her diverse experiences and dedication make her a fantastic resource for helping young minds grow and flourish.
Brittney Williams
MSW, LICSW
Brittney Williams is a dedicated Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, holding Master of Social Work from The University Alabama (2018) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2015). With over six years of experience as a forensic mental health social worker, she has a strong commitment to supporting individuals with severe mental illness and those in correctional facilities.
Brittney is passionate about making a positive impact in lives of others, that everyone has the potential to contribute to a better world. In her free time, she loves to travel, enjoy music and dancing, attend concerts, craft, and cherish moments with family and friends.
Quincy Pearson
MSW, LICSW
Meet Quincy Pearson, a dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in supporting children, adolescents, and their families. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees Social Work from The of Alabama, focusing on the well-being of children and their families.
Quincy has a rich background, including an international internship at the Save Them Young Orphanage in Ghana and roles as a mental health therapist in correctional facilities and healthcare centers for at-risk youth. Passionate about restoring mental health and wellness, he empowers his clients through education and advocacy while enjoying music, anime, and travel in his free time.
Ashley "Renee" Guyton
MSW, LICSW
Ashley Guyton is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her degrees from Troy University and the UA School of Social Work. She specializes in medical social work, helping clients navigate the healthcare system and access vital resources like home healthcare and hospice services. Her dedication ensures clients receive the support they need during challenging times.
Ashley's primary focus group in therapy is adults with issues including anxiety, depression, and substance use. Her goal is to provide a safe space to anyone seeking to explore their mental barriers and work towards healing. All backgrounds, diversities, and gender identities are welcome.
In her free time, she loves to go out with family and friends in the day and wind down by streaming shows and lounging with her mini golden-doodle, Biscuit.
Brittney Joiner
Graduate Social Work Intern
Brittney Joiner is an intern at Perception Counseling Service, currently pursuing her Master's in Social Work at University of North Alabama (UNA). A graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor's in Social Work, she is deeply about helping families, couples, and individuals navigate life's challenges.
Brittney aims to become a Licensed Master Social Worker, dedicated to creating a supportive environment where everyone feels heard, understood, and empowered. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality moments with family and friends, watching movies, and writing.
Tyeanna Hurst
Associate, LMSW
Tyeanna Hurst is a dedicated social worker with a deep passion for mental health and a commitment to empowering individuals to achieve their full potential. With Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Troy University and a Master's degree from the University of West Florida, she has valuable experience working with at-risk individuals in Child Protective Services and educational settings. Tyeanna believes in the importance of creating safe spaces individuals can express themselves feel heard, and accountability. Her career is to obtain her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS) certification, allowing her to further uplift underserved populations.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and traveling, which enrich her understanding of diverse perspectives.
Vanessa Gully
Graduate Intern
Meet Vanessa Gulley, an intern at Perception Counseling Center and a dedicated master's student at the University of West Alabama (UWA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With a bachelor's in psychology from UWA and nearly five years of experience in the mental health field, Vanessa is committed to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in mental health issues, grief, trauma, and family dynamics. Her hands-on experience includes supporting high-risk clients in both residential and outpatient settings, helping them achieve mental wellness and independence.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Vanessa enjoys dancing, singing, and exploring new adventures with her loved ones, believing that true healing begins in the mind.
Shakeitta Jackson, Office Receptionist

Welcome Mrs. Shakeitta Jackson, a proud graduate of Shelton State Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Management and Technology – Information Processing.
Mrs. Jackson is excited to pursue her bachelor’s degree in general business at the University of Alabama. "I am dedicated to being a great asset to the staff and patients of PCS, constantly learning and growing in my career." In her spare time, she enjoys family moments, planning and decorating, traveling, and shopping... all while bringing a big smile and warm spirit to those around her.
